In 2003, Machine Specialties Inc. (MSI), a precision parts maker in Whitsett, North Carolina, just east of Greensboro, got its first order to produce landing gear. The process required 22 separate complex operations on 22 machines. It also took 18 months, start to finish.

On Wednesday, November 7, Dr. Masahiko Mori, President of MORI SEIKI Co., Ltd. and a member of the Supervisory Board of Gildemeister AG, addressed key members of the local government, manufacturing community and press at the ribbon cutting of the newly-built MORI SEIKI Manufacturing facility. His message for the audience was one of projected continuing prosperity and support for the US manufacturing sector.

DMG MORI Draws Big Crowd at JIMTOF 2012 Blog Picture

With 2,340 m2 of leading-edge technology and plenty of expert staff on hand, the DMG MORI booth drew heavy crowds at the 26th Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF), held November 1-6, 2012 in Tokyo, Japan. The DMG MORI booth was the largest at the show, and it was packed with 32 multi-function machines – including five “world premiers” and three “Japan premiers” – as well as a presentation theatre and a dual-level hospitality area. The booth also showcased the winning entries of the Cutting Dream Contest.
